When it is startled or uncomfortable it will often cower behind Goh or an object like a tree. It has often been seen with Goh's smaller Bug-type Pokémon, such as Caterpie. ![]() This was seen again in Trade, Borrow, and Steal! when Goh was left to battle Team Rocket, Pinsir hid behind a tree, not wishing to battle. Pinsir is a timid Pokémon who doesn't like to fight, as seen in Serving Up the Flute Cup! when Goh was considering which of his team to use in the Battle Frontier Flute Cup, Pinsir avoided being chosen. In This Could be the Start of Something Big!, Pinsir attended a surprise party hosted by the Lab members commemorating Goh and Ash's departure. During the battle against them, Pinsir shielded Heracross from a Solar Beam before sending the villainous trio blasting off, earning back Heracross's love and admiration. Goh decorated Pinsir with a flowery dress so that it could impress Heracross, but just when he called out Heracross, Team Rocket attacked the Gym. Wanting to help Pinsir, Ash and Goh took it to the Celadon Gym, where Erika was hosting Pokémon Flower Arrangement. In Suffering the Flings and Arrows!, Goh's newly caught Lilligant released a sweet aroma that caused Heracross to fall in love with her, leading Pinsir to grow depressed. When Goh later caught another Pinsir, he traded it for Kricketina's Heracross as his Pinsir had fallen in love with it. Goh offered to help Kricketina find a Pinsir of her own which they agreed to do. In Trade, Borrow, and Steal!, Goh met a girl named Kricketina Kylie, who wanted to trade Pinsir for one of her Pokémon, something that Goh was reluctant to do. When Golurk loses control, Pinsir joins the other Pokémon to help Goh's three Cascoon evolve safely. In Panic in the Park!, Pinsir tries to calm down some of Goh's other Pokémon while they started to argue. It was later seen with Goh's other Bug-type Pokémon when Professor Cerise offered it a place in the Cerise Laboratory. Scared, Goh started throwing things at Pinsir, eventually throwing a Poké Ball at it, causing it to be caught by Goh. Pinsir startled Ash and Pikachu and began to attack. In Working My Way Back to Mew!, Goh encountered Pinsir in Vermilion Forest while he was preparing to catch himself a Butterfree. After completing a sub-medal, Trainers can continue to make progress toward that sub-medal to earn additional encounters with Scatterbug. The first sub-medal requires collecting three Postcards from a region associated with the Vivillon patterns. *You can pin up to three of your own Postcards per day to make progress towards the medal. Collect different sub-medals to encounter Scatterbug from around the world! These sub-medals are associated with the different Vivillon pattern regions. Trainers can pin both their own Postcards* and Postcards they receive from friends. Trainers will also be able to collect sub-medals within the Vivillon Collector medal by pinning Postcards. To help Trainers keep track of their Vivillon pattern collection, we’re adding a new medal: the Vivillon Collector medal! When a Trainer pins a Postcard, they will unlock this new medal and see a short explanation of how to encounter Scatterbug. Vivillon couldn’t have been discovered at a better time! During this season of giving, Trainers can reconnect with friends and family by sending them a thoughtful Gift through Pokémon GO -and then see how many patterns of Vivillon that Scatterbug can evolve into! Scatterbug from different regions evolve into Vivillon with different patterns! Will you be able to discover and catch Vivillon with every pattern? Progressing on sub-medals leads to encounters with Scatterbug. Pinning Postcards from eligible regions unlocks the Vivillon Collector medal and adds progress to sub-medals associated with the Postcard’s region of origin. Trainers can collect patterned Vivillon from all over the world by pinning Postcards received from Trainers, PokéStops, or Gyms in different regions.
